Jude Anele is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NOVA Bank.
He is a seasoned financial services executive with over 33 years of progressive banking experience across West and Central Africa. Renowned for his performance-driven and ethical leadership style, Jude brings a strong track record in revenue growth, business transformation, operational excellence, risk governance, and large-scale team leadership. His experience spans retail, commercial, corporate, and digital banking, positioning him to lead NOVA Bank through its next phase of strategic expansion.
Before joining NOVA Bank, Jude served as Managing Director/CEO of a leading pan-African banking subsidiary in Central Africa, where he delivered record profitability, doubled the institution’s deposit base within three years, and led a robust digital and agency banking expansion. Under his leadership, the institution earned multiple international and regional recognitions for performance, innovation, and customer service excellence.
Over the course of his career, he has held several executive leadership positions, including responsibility for group-wide retail banking strategy across multiple African markets. He has successfully driven customer acquisition at scale, strengthened SME and consumer banking portfolios, led enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, and implemented high-impact sales optimization and customer relationship management frameworks. He also pioneered digital savings and agent banking propositions that significantly expanded financial inclusion and customer reach.
Jude is recognized for his disciplined execution, strong governance orientation, and ability to build high-performing teams aligned to strategic objectives. His leadership philosophy is anchored on sustainable growth, innovation, customer-centricity, and prudent risk management.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an MBA from Pan-Atlantic University (Lagos Business School). He has also completed the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) and the Executive Development Programme at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA.
At NOVA Bank, Jude leads the strategic expansion of the Bank’s PHYGITAL business model and Accelerated Growth Initiatives (AGI), strengthening its position as a forward-looking commercial bank committed to delivering long-term value to customers, shareholders, and the communities it serves.
